When John got to the tomb, he saw and believed. We don’t know what Peter believed when he arrived. What we do know is that neither of them understood what was actually going on with the resurrection. John saw and believed. Thomas said he wouldn’t believe unless he saw. What we see all around us can cause us to doubt or struggle in our faith or even to come to faith.
